WILDFIRE BLOOM
Upholding the human capacity for strength, wisdom and hope amidst adversity and injustice.

A SOCIAL JUSTICE APPROACH

WHO WE SERVE
Wildfire Bloom exists to provide affordable counselling and community support for people who have experienced violence and injustice. We work with adults and young people of all backgrounds and identities. We serve those whose life journey has included experiences of family violence, rape, sexualised assault, child abuse or other forms of oppression that mostly occur within the context of family or community systems.
AFFORDABILITY
Wildfire Bloom is a registered service under the Victims Services Program NSW. In NSW, a person who has been a victim of crime has the option to apply for 22 hours of counselling paid for by the NSW Government. You may be entitled to this service even if the crime was never reported, or charges were not laid. You may also be entitled to this service if you were a secondary victim, meaning that you are suffering because of a crime committed against someone else (such as a mother or sibling).
COUNSELLING METHOD
At Wildfire Bloom we use evidence-based counselling methodologies that align with a social justice lens because survivors are not the problem - violence, abuse and injustice are the problem. The main methodologies we draw on are Response-based practice, Narrative Therapy, Solutions-Focused therapy and the Bowan family systems approach.
